Nick Gordon Speaks To Dr. Phil
I know many people were anticipating Dr. Phil’s interview of Nick Gordon this week as many people are curious about what happened to Bobbi Kristina Brown.
Dr. Phil arrived to find to find Gordon in bad shape. Gordon admitted that he was taking Xanax and mixing it with alcohol, which can be fatal. Dr. Phil’s goal was simply to get him into rehab, which was the right thing to do.
As you can see in the video above, Gordon was highly unstable and erratic, and knowing he is under the influence, I would take heed in putting too much into anything he says. Xanax and alcohol combined are known to cause jumbled thinking, poor judgement, and can even induce severe panic attacks. You can read more about what Xanax and alcohol can do here.
While I saw a couple of things that raised my eyebrows, I would not put too much stock on them until Nick is of sane mind and able bodied again. When Dr. Phil does the next interview with Gordon, I will share my thoughts then.
Interestingly, it seem this combination of drugs also played a part in Whitney Houston’s death. It makes you think if Whitney introduced these kids (intentionally or unintentionally) to these drugs?
I think Whitney Houston scooped this young man up and he became a part of her family & lifestyle. Drugs & alcohol included. Her sudden death must have left him and her daughter in a state of shock, and they stuck to each other and the lifestyle they had with her. It’s surprising they haven’t both overdosed sooner. He is confused, lost, scared, grieving, just a mess. Hopefully he takes the help offered in rehab to heart, and can start a healing process and a road to a different life before it’s to late.
Xanax and alcohol are so common and readily available (and have been), that it isn’t so much a purposeful “combination” as much as just using two different very available drugs for stress relief and/or avoidance–No introduction is necessary. Downer + downer is never a good combination.
This is sad for everyone involved. I believe Bobbi Kristina and this young man were brought up in a drug culture. At times,in some of her younger videos, Bobbi K. could hardly talk and hold her eyes open. Her grandmother tried to save her once and made Whitney go into drug rehab, but Whitney’s habit got the best of her, again. I know there are a lot of wishes on everyone’s part that they had taken better care of Bobbi K.
I don’t know if anyone deliberately hurt Bobbi, but hurting people are looking for someone to blame. Maybe, in time, the truth will come out, but we may never know what happened.
That is hard to watch. He seems like he is barely handing on to the will to be part of this world. He is in such bad shape that I would first want to see him dry up from whatever he is on, get some rest, get some sleep, get some good nutrition, get him in a place where he feels safe (from himself and others) and then talk to him. I get the impression that I have not even seen his real personality form this.
There is a pretty nice moment in the video – where Gordon acknowledges complicity, probably for the faked for TV act both are putting up. This gets blocked by Phil. Why not talk about that?
Look at this guy – “I wouldnt put anything into the emotions he is feeling and projecting” because – drugs? Ehem. I choose not to.
I’d like to know why there are not only no tears, but also why he looks as though he is suppressing smiles, and frankly, nearly laughter. His eyebrow lifts in amusement of praise when Phil says he is a good guy. That is concerning to me. He just does not come off as distraught about her so much as bummed that it’s all over/ relieved he is being offered rehab to get out of the glare of the investigation spotlight. His self-concern and need for pity overwhelm the grief I would expect him to express if he had nothing to do with her OD.
