When I watch Amber Heard in these segments, I see true and authentic raw emotions.

Emotions that you do not and cannot fake when telling a lie.

To cognitively balance telling a lie and managing to make these expressions accurately and in perfect timing to her verbal message–that’s impossible to do.  This only happens when we truly experience a situation.

Heard expresses disgust repeatedly in a very short period of time which is supportive of the truth and the situation she has described.

She express anger, too, as she says, “You just hit me”.

She also expresses bewilderment as well.  She is cognitively struggling to come to terms with what is happening and did happen to her. She is without question reliving these moments and still feels the disbelief in how he treated her.  And as most domestic abuse victims, she is confused because she cared about him. She even talks about this in the clip above about how he was “the love of my life and also this ‘thing'”.

I also suspect Heard has had Botox because her brows are pretty frozen (below) but they do go into some sadness when she is really feeling her emotions intensely (above), which is also a supportive of the truth. If I had a client on the stand, I would highly recommend they forgo Botox because it does affect people’s ability to understand you, sadly.

When Heard talks about her underwear being ripped off and that Depp proceeds to do a cavity search, she makes this expression which again is disgust and very consistent with her account of what happened:

Heard makes a lot of emotional expressions in just a mere couple of minutes in these clips that support her experience.

Liars do not do this.

Do I believe her that Depp hit her?  Yes.

Do I believe he ripped off her underwear and did a cavity search?  I do.

I do not think Heard is lying about these experiences.

What do you think?

Can you assess Johnny Depp’s testimony? I noticed you only provided input on Amber Heard.

Thanks for posting this. I am so confused by this case. To me, she doesn’t feel authentic. I listened to longer chunks of her testimony and after a while, the heightened drama feels put on, especially when she’s interrupted by lawyers and seems to be able to turn her emotions on and off. This is also a very different Amber Heard than in her deposition (where she’s eating food) for the UK trial. And a very different Amber from their private recordings (including from when she tried to get back together with him after their split, even though she has since testified that she’d already feared for her life on multiple occasions.) That said, I’ve known lots of actors and it seems like actors happen to be extra aware of how they are being perceived. That self-consciousness might be what I’m picking up on here. It doesn’t mean that someone is lying, per se. (We’re all guilty of acting in one way or another.) It might just be her default mode when under incredible stress. I testified in a public hearing re: my history of abuse. Though I am not an actor, I was very aware of how I came across because my fear of not being believed has deep roots. Could be something similar (and if she is telling the truth, that fear has to be off the charts given the coverage). My gut is telling me that it’s more—maybe exaggeration?—but at the end of the day, I really don’t know.

You are correct in that she feels intense emotions and it is making people struggle in liking and understanding her. I am sure she has a fear of not being believed. Stress, anxiety and fear, which anyone would face in a public trial like this, will do a number on anyone.

Would anti anxiety or anti depressants change her emotional state as well? She could be taking something to keep her calm during this stressful time, which may inhibit some of her emotions / tears, etc.

“I am sure she has a fear of not being believed” – that’s because she is lying.
You seem biased. But I think. Johny probably has done, that could be taken as emotionally distressing to her. But she was much much worse..

I think you missed this one, boss. She is so exaggerated, trying out her acting skills. Not that I doubt Johnny is a trainwreck as well, but I think shes definitely a liar about most of her testimony.

She is too emotional and I don’t like it. I see volatility. Honest or not doesn’t even matter.

I look at the big picture rather than this instance alone or some other instance, and it seems to me Depp married a crazy woman and that things just spiraled from there.

His greatest offense from what I can tell is leaving his ex-wife – who seems really awesome – for Heard.

I think many people are siding with Johnny because of his long history with Vanessa as a gentle person. That is what swayed me in favor of Johnny as the trial began. I wonder if a man who does not have a history of violence with women, can become violent if the addiction issues, abuse, and stress in the relationship with Amber pushed him over the edge. I do not condone that but I could understand it. Perhaps he was a different man with her even if he was never violent in previous relationships. Amber lacks credibility in many ways but I don’t think she is lying about everything.

I just remember where he calls her an extortionist cunt… Maybe he paid her off for her support? Maybe she is more of a door matt personality? Winona just recently had a career come back. I think she has reason to not want backlash from his fans… What about the tapes where he admits pushing and head butting? Where he doesnt deny he kicked her? Where no one seems fazed by the possibility? All his witnesses are on his pay roll… are they really unbias? Kate Moss hasnt supported him…. abusers can be really careful who they choose to show that side to and when..

My brother in law was in a relationship with a friend of mine (that’s how I met my husband) and they lived together. When I’d stay over, we’d hear them throwing dishes and screaming in the kitchen while we were in another room. Their relationship was volatile. They both moved onto new, healthy, non violent, long lasting relationships. I do believe there are people out there that shouldn’t be together. They push each other’s buttons.

I have been disgusted by the pro Depp and anti Heard comments on this trial everywhere. For me it is enough to look at the texts Depp sent his friend about burning and raping and killing Heard. This is not a good person. This is a person full of hate.

And he keeps on abusing her by going to court, he does not leave her alone. It is her right to write about a personal experience. He could have done the same and would have a much bigger audience than she had with her article.

Also I remember that there were always stories about Depp trashing Hotel rooms, Jennifer Grey was dating him and said he was very jealous, controlling and got in many fights and there are even darker rumours surrounding his former night club Viper Room. So, no, this is not a gentle person.

His association with Manson who also got accused of abuse by many women is very fitting.

I’m puzzled by this story. Also puzzled by the vehement opinions thrown around. Exhausting videos the ones I’ve seen…… hope not to get sucked into it too much while trying to decipher.

And of course, there’s also this: She’s just testified about these really awful things and now it’s lunch break. She looks up at the jury with this intense sadness, Then, the second she stands up her affect is completely flat, no emotion whatsoever. THEN as the turns to leave there’s this faint creepy sideways smile as if to say, ‘there, it’s done. How’d you like me now, that I’ve stuck the dagger in again’. Nobody smiles after that kind of testimony, not if it’s true.

Would love to hear your views on Amber Heard now she has been cross examined and not questioned and couched by her lawyers.

Because I really don’t get any of that when Johnny’s lawyers are the ones questioning her.

Only time I have disagreed with eyesforlies. Amber is a pathological liar and gaslighter. I watched all her testimony, fake evidence. She is only sorry for herself. Actually, I think she is sick and probably delusional. Johny Is a no saint, but he is not guilty for sexual voilence.

Karma is a bitch, it’s come back to bite her in the arse.
