It’s sad to see Susan Powell on this video tape documenting her life–obviously knowing that things are truly wrong, but hoping beyond hope that things will turn around.
From day one, when Josh Powell was still alive, I believed he has lying and I think everyone today believes he took to his grave where Susan lays buried.
Take this as a message, if you read this and have nagging feelings about your own life, that you must listen to that inner voice.
I know many women know something is wrong, but they excuse it away and hope beyond hope things will improve. Whenever there is violence in a relationship, it is irreparably damaged. Nothing positive will ever come from violence.
My thoughts are with the Powell family. I hope one day they find their daughter’s remains.

Did you catch Dateline this weekend? It was the story of Amber and Josh Hilberling. Josh ended up falling out of his 25th floor apartment that he shared with his wife.
In the police interrogation room, before police spoke to her, Amber started talking to her grandmother about what happened, and police not only listened in, but recorded her.
Amber talks about how she pushed her husband and that he fell out the window, but when asked by her grandmother if it was intentionally, she says no.
I do not believe a word out of Amber’s mouth. She is one scary woman!
I believe, without question, that Amber Hilberling intentionally pushed Joshed knowing it would cause his death.
The clues that Amber reveals are chilling. One that really stood out to me was this one: Amber said in the police interrogation room shortly after her husband died, “This is gonna turn into a nightmare.”
Think about that.
If your husband just died from a horrific accidental fall wouldn’t that be your nightmare?
It clearly wasn’t for Amber.
I think that says it all.

Watching Jodi Arias plea for her life is a bit shocking to say the least. Here is a woman who savagely murdered her lover and tortured him, and what she finds it important to talk about to spare her life is absolutely off the wall.
Jodi doesn’t ever apologize or show remorse. She seems to equate an apology as admitting responsibility–as if it were an acceptable replacement. She clearly misses the mark.
She can’t help but tell us how she “thought” about committing suicide, but of course hasn’t because her family “almost always” comes to mind.
Jodi then talks about how she didn’t know she could be employed in prison, be self-reliant and give back to society. She must have had a revelation since saying she wanted the death penalty after being convicted. Interesting!
I suspect she heard how her after-conviction TV interview backfired on her and only fired people up more to get her in the death chamber because they clearly saw her manipulation for what it was.
Jodi tells us how she can help other prisoners, which is not very convincing. No offense, but most people don’t care about prisoners and what others can do for them!
She then tries to tell us she can help society by starting a recycling program at the prison where she will go, and that she can and has donated her hair to Locks of Love.
It’s almost absurd–as absurd as Jodi herself.
She talks about the years she sat in jail awaiting trial when many people asked for help to learn Spanish or sign-language, but she was too busy before trial, but now she will help.
Unbelievable.
She then shows a flimsy t-shirt which she created and hopes to sell for survivors–victims of domestic abuse.
Are you stunned? Yes, so am I.
The gall it takes to even consider this. It shows how sick and twisted Jodi really is.
I find it so sad that this is all she can offer anyone. I would have much preferred to see true and sincere remorse, but Jodi doesn’t have any, as evident by her continually self-centered words.
But by far the most abhorrent thing I heard Jodi say was, “Some people may not believe that I am a survivor of domestic violence–their entitled to their opinion. I am supporting this cause because it is very important to me.”
Notice she never says, “But I am (a survivor)”. She oddly left that out.
She cannot give Travis or his family one ounce of room. At the end of the clip, she starts talking about how sorry she is for what she did–essentially how she ruined HER LIFE–again not sorry for Travis.
I do not believe in the death penalty, but this girl gets as close as I could get to actually pulling the plug. I feel deeply for Travis’ family to have to endure another element from this woman. She could not be more cruel, callous and calculating, if she tried. If I were Travis’ family I would want nothing short of death. I can honestly say that.
Yet in odd twist, I do think this was Jodi trying her damnest to save her life at the only level she knew how. It shows how empty a psychopath really is.
Very sad.

Jodi Arias was admitted to a psychiatric ward in Lower Buckeye jail some time after the verdict. Many people are speculating if this was another manipulation stunt by Jodi. I would say it is not.
I believe one of two things may have happened and agree with Dr. Drew when he suggested that when Jodi Arias said she preferred to die rather than serve out her natural life in prison, the warden of the jail may have very well put her on suicide watch as he is responsible for her life.
He also said that medical professionals have certain criteria they use before they lock someone up in the psych ward. I believe him in this regard as well.
Jodi Arias may have had a serious melt down for two reasons:
1. If she heard she was going to be transported to a psych ward because of what she said in her TV interview after the verdict, this would have caused Jodi to flip, because her “game” of saying she wanted death (when I really believe she didn’t) backfired on her, and bit her in the bum. She wouldn’t have anticipated this, and the lack of control she had at that point would have been nil, and she likely reacted and reacted violently.
or
2. When Jodi was finally left alone after the verdict, she may have realized that her life as she knew it was over, and again, the idea that she had no control could have caused her to flip mentally and/or physically. It’s very, very possibly.
People who suffer from Jodi’s disorder of psychopathy do not do well in situations where they lack all control. In trial, Jodi had a fair amount of control still, but since the verdict that has changed. She will no longer be able to influence people as easily as she did before– at least for a while. Granted, she will still try and she still will be able to do so, but her effectiveness will be less than ever before until she builds networks in prison.
Which on that note, I do believe that Jodi Arias is an extremely high risk prisoner. I think she has the highest propensity to escape from prison of any other suspect I have analyzed since Diane Downs. And Diane Downs, who shares Jodi’s sickness, has escaped and tried multiple times.
If I were to speak to Jodi Arias’ warden, I would strongly advise him to keep an extra hard watch on Jodi Arias through her entire time in prison. I would put the toughest guards on her who are least likely to fall for her manipulation–because Jodi can be extremely good at manipulating people (even though we haven’t witnessed it in court). I would not be surprised at all if she manipulates people who are clueless as she escapes beneath them.

While I haven’t seen much of Jodi’s after-conviction interview, I did see her talk about wanting the death penalty, and I don’t believe her for one minute.
I’m convinced this is another manipulation. Jodi believes if she tells the jury this, they will give her life in prison instead, which I believe is exactly what she wants.
Jodi doesn’t fear prison half as much as she says. She knows she can still masterfully manipulate many of the people in prison, she can go after appeals–she may even be arrogant enough to think she can escape–and its possible! She’s no dummy (thought she acted like it when cornered in court, I’ll give you that!). And I think she has a lot of revenge she wants to dish out as well.
I don’t believe for an instance that Jodi want to die, and she shows clues in her behavior when she says it too!
