Robert Blake on Piers Morgan

Being defensive is never a good strategy.  The first question people will ask is what do you have to hide?  Of course, all people get defensive from time to time–especially when we aren’t being believed and think we should be.  The difference, however, is honest people will eventually try to talk and explain themselves.  Dishonest people shut down and don’t, generally speaking (there are always exceptions to the rule, however).

Here are my thoughts on Robert Blake.

The Chilling Story of Addie Hall and Zachery Bowen

Last night I watched the new series on ABC called Final Witness.  Have you seen it?  I love the show on many fronts. It details true crime stories where they interview actual people involved, but the twist is they tell the story from the victim’s point of view.

I am endlessly fascinated with human behavior, and crime is an element of that. I am also fascinated to watch real people tell real story because the truth never compares to fiction.  Furthermore, ABC did an awesome job finding actors to portray the real people they represented.  It was notably superb which made the story so much more realistic for me as they acted it out.

The episode I watched last night was titled Graveyard Love. It was the story of Addie Hall and Zachery Bowen, pictured above in the French Quarter after Hurricane Katrina.  They rode out Hurricane Katrina and when they emerged, they found few people around, but decided to live in a city abandoned.  They liked it and the media captured them in photographs.

The story is simply fascinating.  You just have to watch it, if you haven’t, but be prepared its macabre. I haven’t been able get these two people out of my mind since seeing it.  I think its because mental illness doesn’t show itself on our faces unless its severe, and no one could have ever predicted what Zachery did.

You can find many actual photos of Addie and Zachery online if you look, and there are lots of google entries about them.  I read this one after watching the show and found it interesting.

Zachery Bowen’s behavior is truly bizarre and fascinating for me.  I seek to want to full understand what happened with him and why… It’s the puzzle of life that drives my existence.

P.S.  After you watch the story, you have to come back and read the latest development. It’s simply mind-blowing.

48 Hours: Secrets of a Marriage

I finally was able to do some catching up last night.  I was able to watch last week’s TV shows.  I watched 48 Hours Secrets of a Marriage.  It was an interesting story of a husband and a wife, and sadly, murder.

I believe the jury got this case correct when they put Wesley Earnest behind bars. While there were several indicators for me, the one that I found the most fascinating was what Earnest said when he was asked the following question in the 48 Hours interview:

“Are you prepared if the verdict comes back guilty? Have you thought about that?” Smith asked Earnest.

“I have,” he replied.

“What do you do?”

“Stare at the walls in a 6×8 cell.”

Really?

If he’s wrongly convicted, he’ll just stare at the walls?

Wow.

If you were innocent and handed down a guilty verdict, would you just sit and stare at the walls?

It’s fascinating how a guilty mind works versus an innocent one.  They don’t run the same channels no matter how hard they try to make them!

Paula Sladewski and Kevin Klym

Dateline re-aired the story of Paula Sladewski and Kevin Klym this weekend, and I wanted to share a post I had original written on March 23, 2010.

________________________________________________

I was asked about my opinion on Kevin Klym in early February on my Feedback Tab.  While on a short vacation in Miami, Kevin Klym’s girlfriend, Paula Sladewski, was found dead, burned in a dumpster.

Klym and Sladewski were separated at a night club early one morning, supposedly over an argument.  Both were removed from the club minutes apart.  Klym says he made his way back to their hotel, but Sladewski never returned.

Kevin’s story was featured on Dateline NBC this past weekend, and I just wanted to say that I have seen enough to say that I believe Kevin is being honest in that he is not involved in killing Paula Sladewski.  While they may have not had the best relationship, all signs from Klym are supportive he is not involved.
