Elisa Baker’s Ex-Husband: Aaron Young

Aaron Young, Elisa Baker’s ex-husband of 10 years, speaks out about Zahra’s death in an exclusive interview with News 14 Carolina.  In this interview, Young talks about several things that I am confident he is being honest about.  He tells us that Elisa was jealous of the attention that Zahra would get.  He also tells us that Adam, Zahra’s biological father, was a good guy and that he would do anything for anybody.  I believe these are absolutely true.

Last he tells us that he thinks Elisa is capable of doing this horrible act by herself, which I believe Aaron truly believes.  From what I see of Adam Baker myself, he was the typical nice guy, though nice guys do get caught up in the spells of psychopaths, unfortunately.

I do not think that Aaron Young was involved in killing Zahra Baker.  I believe him here.  I was confused when he said in the first video that he has had nothing to do with Elisa since February, but in the third video he said he took Zahra swimming with five other children in August, but I suspect he was with Adam and Zahra and not Elisa, but I would double check that if I could…just to be sure.

Jo Yeates’ murder: 2nd Person Arrested

A second man has been arrested in connection with the Jo Yeates murder, 32-year old Vincent Tabak, who lived next door to Jo with his girlfriend.

Chris Jeffries, 65, was arrested in late December, and he has since given police a DNA sample according to news reports and says he expects to be cleared soon. He has also talked of suing the media and police for harming his reputation. He was a unique character to say the least.

If any footage comes up of either man where they are willing to discuss the case, please let me know. Thanks, MA.

Jared Lee Loughner: Prior Inappropriate Behavior

The tragedy in Arizona is heart wrenching, but I think there is a valuable learning lesson we can all take from this horrible situation.  People in this video speak out about how Loughtner behaved inappropriately–eerily laughing at inappropriate times. This is key.  We so often explain inappropriate behavior away–giving people the benefit of the doubt.  This is a dangerous thing to do.  More people need to take notice and band together when they see inappropriate behavior.

I am a firm believe that as a society we have become so politically correct that we have lost touch with reality. We are afraid to speak the truth.  When we see something inappropriate, we are all scared to speak up and say so publicly for fear of being shunned. Hence we retreat, and allow these people free license to continue in their out-of-bound behavior, which can become out of control.

While I do not advocate confronting a person who is acting inappropriate, I do think more of us should reach out to those who may have influence on people like this, such as family members, to get them to seek help.  If enough people did this, it might have spurred on Loughner’s parents to take more appropriate steps to see if there was anything that could be done for their son before it was too late.

We need to stop being so politically correct.  I believe it is an ill of society that is causing us more detriment than good.  What do you think?

Do you feel safe to speak out against someone’s inappropriate behavior? Or do you feel you will be shunned?

BTW:  This photo on the post (for the video) was reported to be his mug shot.  I can’t imagine…

Zahra Baker Update from Jane Velez-Mitchell

I wrote about Adam Baker back on October 11, 2010 stating I believed he knew more than he was telling us. You can read my thoughts here.

Jo Yeates’ Murder: A Pillar of Society?

Jo Yeates vanished after coming home from a night out with friends on December 17 in the UK. She was last seen buying a pizza on surveillance on her way home. Sadly her body was found on Christmas Day.

A retired English teacher, Chris Jefferies, 65, has been held for questioning and arrested for her death.  He was Jo’s landlord.  A neighbor to Jefferies, Ray Lowman, told BBC news about Jefferies, “He is basically a pillar of society. One of the well-known familiar locals.”  The neighbor also called Jefferies very intelligent and smart.

You can see Mr. Jefferies in an interview here with The Sun (UK) talk about the last time he saw Yeates. He is very arrogant and smug.  Arrogance is always a tip-off that something is amiss when someone is questioned about a crime in a criminal manner.  Arrogance has no place nor reason, though alone it is not conclusive.

Several people were suspicious of Jo’s parents in this interview, but I did not see anything that raised any red flags. You can read my thoughts here on her parents in their plea for their daughter’s return last week.

Thanks for the video link, Sophie!
