Matt Baker’s Mistress to Testify Against Him

Here is the latest in the Matt Baker Trial…(The video is slow to load. If it doesn’t, you can go here to see it).

Matt Baker’s Trial Begins Today

For those of you who have been reading my blog for some time, you will remember I discussed and reviewed the case of Matt and Kari Baker starting back in March of 2008, after it was profiled on ABC’s 20/20 and then again on 48 Hours. Click here to see some of my posts on this story (the first post is at the bottom).

The state of Texas has taken on the case and is now pursuing murder charges against Matt Baker. His trial starts today. His attorney asked for a change in venue, but was turned down by the trial judge. More info from the WacoTrib.com.

Signs that Knox is Psychopath?

Here is an interesting article from an Eyes for Lies reader, where a psychoanalyst looks closely at Knox. Thanks, M.W!

The Meredith Kercher Trial Draws To A Close

Here are my (edited) thoughts from a comment section:

With regard to a sociopaths/psychos being innocent, but assumed guilty because of their aloof behavior, I actually think it is remote, though of course, plausible. Why do I think that? It’s two fold. The average sociopath is usually very intelligent. They are master manipulators. They can usually convinced most people they are telling the truth when they are, in fact, lying. They are much wiser than most, so the likelihood they would get “dumb” all of the sudden in a hot bed situation and fail to convince people, especially when they are innocent, seems unlikely to me. It seem very remote. People like this usually thrive on confrontation, challenge and difficult situations. They aren’t ones to buckle under pressure unless they believe the world discovered they aren’t as smart as they thought they were.

Second, sociopaths do feel emotions — their own emotions. There is no doubt about that. Get a sociopath mad and watch the fury. Once you’ve seen it, you will never forget it. With that, accuse a sociopath of something they didn’t do and you will likely see anger– very notable anger, unless they are guilty. You are likely to see revenge, too. But when they are guilty, and they are lying, they play the sweet innocent “master manipulator’s game” of “I’m a nice guy”. Think of Drew Peterson. Think of Scott Peterson, think of Ted Bundy. It’s so against their manipulative character, it is the biggest red flag there is.

With that, why haven’t we seen any anger in Amanda at all? Its absolutely missing and it makes no sense for someone who is innocent. She keeps playing the poor innocent victim, but we know Amanda’s character from all we’ve seen was anything but sweet and innocent.

On another note… does anyone have the short stories that were once posted on Amanda Knox’s MySpace blog when she was arrested? The one where she wrote about rape? I’d like to see those again.
