Trump. But there is another reason.

CBS 60 Minutes did an interesting segment on fake news this past weekend. Did you get a chance to see it? If not, I highly recommend it.
Every fake news story discussed on this show was presented to me by one of my readers asking me if the story was true or not. I was astounded I had seen them all through you, my readers. And I did not discuss them publicly because I did not find them credible.
I think there are some basic rules I would suggest to avoid fake news. Don’t ever consider Facebook or any other social media platform as a source of news unless you are getting it from a trusted source such as BBC or Reuter’s page on FB (if they even have one). Facebook is not in the business of disseminating news. They are social platform and sell many things in the form of advertising. I disregard all side column articles as paid ads and ignore them, and always have.
When I want news, I go to the main stream media websites directly. They are not fake news sites despite what Trump has told you. I also read multiple sources to verify stories and facts. When you see a headline like “Hillary has Parkinson’s Disease” if you don’t see the news on any other website that is reputable in the news industry, you know it’s likely questionable. The odds are not that you got the story first on some obscure website. Do know that.
I am very picky about sources and I highly recommend you are, too. Plus, when you click on these fake news sites, I think you run a much higher risk to get a virus as well. You really don’t know where you are going when you click on some strange website you’ve never heard of. It could Bulgaria or Romania or China trying to influence you. So think twice before clicking on some tantalizing link.

Nothing has changed. She is as pathological as ever, lying to the interviewer through every question. Not a shred of truth in her answers.
She can’t admit the truth and probably never will.
This time she gives a new “version” of what happened to her daughter, Caylee.
This time she claims she fell asleep at her parents home with Caylee and woke up several hours later to find Caylee had simply vanished.
It’s sad to hear the interviewer play along with her lies and say, “Don’t you wish you knew what happened?” to which Casey replies, “Absolutely.”
No, Casey knows exactly what happened.
If you notice she has no questions, no concerns, no worry. She knows the truth without any shred of doubt.
Casey now says she is working for the lead investigator who worked on her case. I’d believe that only when I could verify it. Casey, being pathological, lies even when it doesn’t even matter. Nothing she says can be taken at face value: Ever.
I love when Casey Anthony says, “I sleep….pretty good at night.”
Yeah, right, Casey. Just another lie…
I don’t believe she loses sleep over Cayelee, but she does lose sleep over how her actions destroyed her life and took away her freedom. She may not be in a prison, but she knows if she shows her face in public and people know where to find her, they won’t be kind to her.
If you’ve followed my blog over the years, you know I wrote about Michael Peterson. In 2001, Michael’s wife, Kathleen, was found at the bottom of the stairs in pool of blood, dead. He maintained she fell, but investigators saw it differently.
In 2003, Michael Peterson was convicted of beating his wife and killing her. He was sentenced to life without parole.
In 2011, Peterson was granted a new trial on the basis a lab analyst lied on the stand.
To make a long story short, Michael Peterson recently got a plea deal where he gave an Alford plea. He doesn’t admit guilt but acknowledges the prosecutors have enough evidence to convict him.
The judge sentenced him for time served and he walked out of prison after only eight years. He is now a free man.
I have not believed Michael Peterson and have said so from the first time I heard about this case.
Did you know another woman who Peterson was also close to years before he knew Kathleen died by falling down the stairs, too? Her name was Elizabeth Radcliff. Lightening didn’t strike twice in Michael’s life by coincidence, if you ask me.
