Reading Foreign Faces
As Westerners, when we look at people from the East, we often struggle to identify different nationalities. It’s more challenging for us to identify Taiwanese features and distinguish them from say Japanese or Vietnamese features. It’s even difficult at times to distinguish the differences in facial subtleties of people of the same nationality.
But have you ever wondered if we are equally as challenging to read to Easterners?
We actually are more challenging for them to differentiate for them, too!

It’s much like meeting a foreigner. You assume “they” have an accent, right? When in reality you BOTH have an accent to each other.

Great 3-day Class in Milwaukee
It’s been an incredible week! I met some exceptional and amazing people! After training several thousand law enforcement professionals across the country, I decided to open my training to the public. I set up the course, got registrations and the class kicked off on Monday! For three days, I talked about human behavior and deception detection in a “master class” at the Milwaukee Hilton Garden Inn.
Participants flew in not only from across the country–New York City, New Jersey, Atlanta, Chicago, San Diego, and Denver–but internationally as well coming from as far away as Auckland, New Zealand, and Quebec, Canada!
Everyone in the class was extremely enthusiastic and motivated to learn, and great friendships were formed! We truly had fun and even dined together over lunch all three days!

Expression of the Day: Amy Schumer
MSN.com posted “54 Photos Of Inexplicable Celeb Friendships,” and in the grouping of photos there was a photo of Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence.
Amy Schumer’s expression popped out at me immediately.
What universal facial expression is she making?
I am shocked at magazines, and publications that buy and print these “so-called” smile expressions that are anything but a smile. Do you think they print them because they don’t know any better, or they are looking for a response?

48 Hours: Stephen Nichols and Rhonda Castro
This past weekend, 48 Hours profiled the story of Stephen Nichols and Rhonda Castro.
Julia Simmons, Rhonda’s mother, rented a room from Stephen Nichols, and she decided to introduce her daughter to Nichols.
Stephen and Rhonda hit it off and started dating. They dated three years and had a little baby girl together.
After having her baby, Rhonda gained a little weight and wanted to lose it, said Nichols, so he suggested they go hiking.
Rhonda told her mom about going on the hike, “He’s either gonna give me a ring or he’s gonna throw me off the cliff.”
They went hiking in Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge–a place of stunning beauty and unforgiving cliffs.
On their hike, Rhonda, according to Stephen, slipped and fell to her death.
Stephen has since been charged with murdering Rhonda, but has not yet faced a trial.
