When I watch Jennifer’s husband, Kallen Huston, speak out in this video, nothing stands out to me as notable or concerning.

In the relationship, however, the more dominant and most regimented person of this couple is Kallen. Jennifer is soft soul who likely tried to do what pleased Kallen. Could she have decided to run off? It is possible. Is it likely? No. Jennifer wouldn’t leave her family guessing unless she felt extreme pressure to do so…

Michael Vilkin versus John Upton: What really happened?

ABC 20/20 featured the story this past weekend of John Upton and Michael Vilkin–both neighbors who didn’t get along.

Vilkin owned a vacant lot and tended to it as if it were a full-time job but Upton had some serious complaints that he aired with Vilkin. The two were known to not get along.

The last fight these two men had involved Vilkin cutting down trees on his own property and Upton being upset that his privacy would be lost at his current home where he rented.

Vilkin ended up shooting and killing Upton, got convicted of murder and faces 25 years to life for the murder.

So what really happened here?

When I watched the show, I do not question that Vilkin was bullied by Upton. There is no doubt in my mind he was bullied.

But I have a problem with Vilkin’s story. At first, Vilkin told us he was assaulted by Upton when he shot him in self-defense, but the second time he said he saw Upton coming at him with a gun, and shot and killed him. The gun Vilkin thought he saw Upton carrying ended up being a cell phone.

The two versions of Vilkin’s story are completely inconsistent.

So I do believe Vilkin was bullied and it probably was driving him mad, but I don’t believe that he had to shoot Upton as an act of self-defense.

Shanesha Taylor Leaves Kids in Hot Car

Shanesha Taylor claims desperation as the reason she left her kids in the car in Arizona when she went into a job interview. She left two very young children, 2-years and 6 months, in their car seats with the windows cracked only an inch with the keys in the ignition. When the children were rescued, it was already 100 degrees inside the car.

This week prosecutors dropped felony charges, if she attended programs for parenting and substance abuse.

I am troubled by Shanesha’s responses in this interview. The way Shanesha talks about the babysitter and the reason she didn’t have one is hot for me. You can clearly see her speech patterns change, and what I call “thinking-on-her-feet behavior”. She doesn’t appear to be recollecting what actually happened. This is a huge red flag.

I seriously question if she ever had a babysitter.

When Matt Lauer asks Shanesha, “Despite the circumstances, did you act reasonably and responsibly?”

She says “That’s a difficult question”.

What??

I can understand she may have made a bad decisions because of stress, but I don’t understand not owning up to it now–especially considering she is getting a second chance!

She doesn’t yet own what she did was dangerous, and furthermore her answer shows no emotional compassion (regret/remorse) that she nearly killed her kids with her poor decision making at a supposed time of “crisis”.

With this response, I am worried for Shanesha’s children. People only make changes when they are willing to own up to their shortcomings and claim the errors that they made. No one is perfect, but given a second chance if she cannot clearly see what she did was the wrong choice, she has a high propensity to make the same decision again, and this next time could cost her children’s lives.

I am also sad that so many people stood up to help her when she shows no remorse or compassion for her children, the danger she put them in, and for her bad judgements.

Matthew Sandusky Talks to Oprah

Oprah Winfrey aired an interview with Matthew Sandusky, the son of Jerry Sandusky, last week. Unfortunately, I was unable to watch it, but I did catch about 15 minutes of the interview with Oprah online.

When I watch Matthew talk in the video above, I see no indication that he is being deceptive. I will say this is not a high stake scenario–where he faces a loss or a gain–by telling his story, so we must remember this. The stakes of the situation are past now for him, which reduces the pressure on him.

Dottie Sandusky has spoken out about Matt in very negative ways. I never believed Jerry Sandusky nor do I believe Dottie Sandusky either.

Jennifer Martello Found Dead

This is an interesting video to watch. The husband, Sam, talks to a reporter about the recent death of his wife, who was found dead along a road. He shows absolutely no sadness whatsoever when talking about her. This pings me.

Furthermore, he says their relationship was all about love, yet in another report neighbors talked about how the police were called to the residence at least six times since 2012, so by that we can see Sam is not being forthright. It wasn’t all about love–there were problems.

I am also disturbed by the fact he recorded her that night and saved it, and plays that for the reporter. In the interview above, he says his wife was determined to go to the bar. In another audio recording on the web, he says she was just going for a walk.

This story at this point concerns me… I have some questions for Sam.
