Kayleah Wilson

Twelve-year-old Kayleah Wilson disappeared at the end of March and was last seen walking to a friend’s birthday party. Yesterday police found a body in an irrigation ditch a 1/2 mile from where Kayleah lived, but they have not been able to make identity the body yet, as it was badly decomposed.

If anyone sees any family members being interviewed in this case or the 17-year old boyfriend, please let me know and I will look at the video.

Steve Kardian, a police officer for 30 years and a security expert, says that less than 1/2 of one percent of childhood abductions are from strangers. Does that statistic surprise you? I wonder how many sexual predators are strangers? With all the news today, it feels like there is a child predator on every corner!

George de la Cruz Fails Polygraph

George de la Cruz, the estranged husband of missing Julie Ann Gonzalez, failed the polygraph on Dr. Phil’s show last Friday.

Over a week ago, I reviewed audio of George and pointed out hot spots that I saw in his speech, so I am not surprised by the results. I will say I was surprised to hear polygrapher Jack Trimarco state that the polygraph is 93% accurate. I have done a fair amount of reading searching for a qualified study to identify the accuracy of the polygraph, and I have never seen any reputable study state the results were anywhere near that high. My research identified accuracy between 60-70%. I’d be curious to know where Jack got that statistic.

I searched for the latest news on Julie and found that police searched a home in connection to this case last week.

If anyone sees any updates, please let me know.

George de la Cruz on Dr. Phil Today

Dr. Phil Foundation Announcement With Little Kids Rock

Don’t forget to watch or record Dr. Phil today. He airs the second segment of his show about Austin, Texas’ missing Julie Ann Gonzalez. They reveal the results of a lie detector test on Julie’s estranged husband, George de la Cruz.

Julie was last seen, according to George, when she went to pick up their daughter, whom they share joint custody. When I listen to George tell his version of what happened, I do not believe George de la Cruz is leveling with us. Let’s pray that Julie comes home safely. I am concerned for her safety at this time.

Lyle Herring Arrested for Wife’s Murder

I wrote about Lyle Herring back in April of last year after his wife went missing. Lyle’s behavior was odd and notable, even for police investigators. Today they arrested him for his wife, Leslie’s, murder. I just realized I never put this case on “Hot Cases”! I forgot. I wouldn’t have remembered the case, but I saw it was a getting lots of hits on my blog–that’s how I was alerted there was news.

KTLA.com reports:

Lyle S. Herring was arrested Wednesday about 4:30 p.m. after a 14-month-long investigation, police said…Herring has not been seen since February 8, 2009.

They don’t mention that they found Leslie’s body. Has anyone heard if they have?

Tiffany Tehan Alive and Well

Tiffany Tehan was found alive and well in Miami with Tres Hutcherson!! You can read the story here. Police have planned a press conference at 10:30 today, which will be streamed live over the web, if you want to check it out.

Tehan has now been in contact with her family. What was this woman thinking? Clearly, she wasn’t using her better judgment. You have to feel sorry for David. My heart goes out to him. I’d be so mad, I wouldn’t even be able to look at Tiffany.

This case is important because you must consider the evidence before you judge a smile. We had evidence that we couldn’t dismiss–a video of Tehan with another man, that could explain why her husband wasn’t potentially panicky anymore.

Fascinating story!!!

UPDATE 10:31 AM:
Tehan and Hutcherson were romantically involved.
She says she left voluntarily with the intent to start a new life!
