Emotional Intelligence Quiz Thanks, SM, for sharing this with me!

Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa

A reader has asked me what I see when I look at this painting by Leonardo da Vinci.

Ironically, I have never connected with this painting, and there could be many reasons for it.

Perhaps da Vinci didn’t accurately replicate the emotion Mona Lisa was displaying on her face  in this portraiture, or he painted her from memory and missed elements or detail to make it realistic?

Mona Lisa’s face just feels empty to me.  Her eyes reflect a smile, but no other elements of her face support it.  Her mouth has a slight tension about it and a hint of contempt, but again, its not natural or realistic.  And her body language conveys a very relaxed person–all conflicting messages to me.

Perhaps da Vinci had conflicting feelings of Mona Lisa as he painted her?

Or he intentionally misaligned her expression to cause mystery?

Many speculate that da Vinci was mentally ill, so maybe he saw the world askew?

I don’t think we’ll ever know.

Many say the painting is enigmatic.  To that, I would agree.

Here is wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving–for those of you who live in the U.S. or celebrate the holiday elsewhere.  And a special day for those who don’t.

I am so grateful for all the people who contribute to my blog with ideas, thoughts, critical thinking, and even those who challenge our thinking by playing the devils advocate.  You have all enriched my life in amazing ways and made me a better person for the experiences you have shared with me.

This Thanksgiving, I am very grateful for all of you.

I am also deeply grateful for all the opportunities I was given this year to share my message with many, many professional and outstanding hard working people in the law enforcement community.  I was blessed to meet many new people.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones!

P.S. My goal is to try to write more on the blog again…I’ve missed it!

Jodi Arias’ Former Cellmate Talks: Is she telling the truth?

FOX 10 News | myfoxphoenix.com

Jodi Arias’ former cellmate, Cassandra Collins, is talking to the media.  She tells of how Jodi wants revenge against prosecutor Juan Martinez if she gets the death penalty.

Cassandra also says that Jodi manipulates people getting them to defend her in prison (as shown in the video).

Do I believe Cassandra?

I do–100%.  What Cassandra says is 100% consistent with a psychopath and their behavior.

Cassandra also talks about how Jodi was surprised that Martinez didn’t ‘love” Jodi.   I suspect Cassandra took the word love to mean romantically, but what I think Jodi was saying is “Why hasn’t Martinez fallen for my spell like other men — in other words, why doesn’t he like me like all the other men in my past?

As a manipulative psychopath, she has manipulated more people than we’d ever want to know, and she is baffled Martinez didn’t fall under her charm like all the others.  She can’t grasp someone saw through her after experiencing her charm firsthand.  Does that ever give you a clue at how successful she was?!  I’d hate to know how many fell for her B.S.

Jodi Arias will be a threat to society her entire life.  Her psychopathy will no go away, though experts do say psychopaths mellow after 50.  We’ll see.  I would never turn my back on Jodi Arias.

Ever.

Is waitress Dayna Morales caught in a lie?

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Last week while traveling, I didn’t follow the story on Dayna Morales, a waitress who claimed she was stiffed a tip because she was gay.  Today, however, catching this story in the news, and listening to both sides of the story, its clear to me that Dayna is not telling us what she knows be true.

When Dayne is put on camera, her reactions are squarely out of place when she is questioned if there was some sort of misunderstanding, “I don’t know, all I know is what I’ve been saying.”

She’s like a cat caught with the canary in her mouth. What else can she say?  A true victim would have a lot more to say than that–that’s for sure!

I absolutely believe the family who has chosen to remain anonymous and I do not believe Morales at all.
