 Sampson died Jan 2012

Dogs are needlessly dying because Nestle/Purina refuse to take the dangerous dog food treats, Waggin’ Train-brand chicken jerky off the shelves.  There have been several hundred complaints to the FDA about dogs becoming deathly sick and dying, yet neither organization takes any steps to stop more dogs from dying!!

It’s outrageous and unacceptable.

I am going to boycott Nestle/Purina and I will no longer by any of their products, even for me (human grade), if this is how they treat this customers.  I hope you will do the same.

This has to stop!!!

Please help bring awareness to this issue and put pressure on Nestle to stop this by signing this petition at Change.org:

New Developments in the Shaima Alawadi Case

Photo no longer available
Victim’s Daughter
Shaima Alawadi was found beaten last month in her home, and her daughter said she found  a note next to her body that read go back to your home country.  People speculated this was a hate crime.  Sadly, Shaima died within the week from her injuries.
I looked at the video of the victim’s daughter, Fatima, and immediately things did not sit right with me.  She had no tears, no facial muscles that indicate true sadness, no stress lines in the face, and she was saying her mother was taken away from her before she actually died. These are all indicators that what Fatima was telling us does not support what she actually feels.
Things are not what they seem.
I do not believe Fatima is being honest with us. I do not believe she is grieving in the video I reviewed last week.  Does that mean she is her mother’s killer?  It does not.  While I can spot signs that indicate deception, it would take a psychic to tell you what the person is lying about and I am not psychic.  Deception in this case could involve knowledge of the murder, or murderers.  That is all that can be said at this point.
New developments came out this week after sealed documents were accidentally released.  Here is what was found in those documents:
  1. The note found at the scene was not an original. It was a photocopy.
  2. A neighbor reported seeing a dark, thin young man exit the house around the time the attack took place.
  3. Fatima told police that she heard her mom squeal, and glass break, but she thought it was a plate (pretty far fetched, if you ask me).
  4. Shaima Alawadi, the victim, was contemplating a divorce.  She had the paperwork in her car.
  5. Shaima also had a troubled relationship with her daughter, Fatima.
  6. Fatima was found by officers allegedly having sex with a guy in a car, and her mother was called.  On the way home, Fatima jumped out of the car at 35 mph.
  7. In the hospital, Fatima confessed she was very upset she was going to be forced into an arranged marriage with her cousin.
  8. Police discovered a text message on Fatima’s phone when they were interviewing her about the attack on her mom.  It said, “The detective will find out tell them cnt talk.”

Also this in the past few days, a neighbor was interviewed by a local news station, and she thought it was really odd the sliding door was broken and fell outside of the house and not inside, which is notable!

It will be interesting to watch this case develop.  I do not believe Shaima was a victim of a random act of violence, or a hate-targeted crime by some stranger.  Nothing points to that at this time.

3 big brands may be tied to chicken jerky illness in dogs, FDA records show

If you buy your dog chicken jerky treats, be warned.  Dogs have been dying and the FDA is not requiring the manufacturer to cease selling the products.  It is reported that over 200 dogs have died to date.

I would personally not feed my dog anything from China.  Boil up some chicken thighs instead, cut and freeze the rest until you need it–its ready to go.  A quick and safe treat!!

Or for a better treat, slice any variety of chicken thin, put on oiled baking sheet and bake at 250 until dry — about 1- 1.5 hours.  Delicious for even humans and its safe!!

This is flat out outrageous and needs to stop.  Please pass this on– you can save a dogs life and man heart-break.  Cleo should not have had to die for the greed of man!

Organic Lawn Care: Is it for real?

Warning sign, seen in Valley Forge Park

As someone who doesn’t like to expose myself and my family to unnecessary chemicals, I have been hand-plucking weeds, and doing the old-fashioned hoeing in my yard on a steady diet for years. It’s not a fun exercise, but one that feels “right”.

Then one day I ran into a person who was sold on an organic lawn care company.  It sounded good– I must say! The company came and took care of this person’s lawn with a spray here and a sprinkle there, and wallah!  Their weeds disappeared instantly, and amazingly so.  This person swore to me–it’s all organic!

I was amazed, and curious: What type of organic lawn care was this?

I had tried so many organic solutions over the years, and nothing compared to this!   I tried corn gluten to suppress weeds with no noticeable result except killing my grass seeds!  I tried vinegar and salt, only to permanently kill my grass all together. I’ve come really close to purchasing a torch–let me tell you, but I don’t think that will fix it either.

So when I saw this magical green lawn appear before my eyes that was once ridden with weeds and glowing yellow in spring, I had to check it out.

What did this company sell because man –it was effective!  And I saw the truck.  It indeed said “organic” lawn care.

I got on the phone and I called the company.  Who wouldn’t want that? If I could banish hours of work each year to a few “organic” sprays?  I’d gladly pay for it!

When I got the guy on the phone who sold the product, I asked him what he did, and what he said was shocking.

He said he used a chemical–I don’t remember the name now–but to make it organic he watered it down dramatically so that it was no longer toxic.

I kid you not!! I questioned him again to make sure I heard it right and I did.

I hope your alarm bells are ringing.

Hello!

I wrote down the chemical name, and did some reading online.  Sure enough, the chemical he claimed to use was in every nasty chemical bag out there — in the cheapest of products. It was not a “non-toxic chemical” by any means. It was on the contrary–very toxic.

I knew right away the guy was selling me the Brooklyn Bridge, if I was so inclined to buy it.  I said thanks, but no thanks!

If we could water down chemicals to this extreme and call them organic, and they would work this magic — everyone would have done this a long time ago and the person who discovered it would be mighty rich, but I’ve never seen or found that guy.  The story was utter rubbish.

I was shocked and still am in shock this business continues to thrive today, but few people ask their company what they do to accomplish the task–that I am sure of.  I still see the company continually come to lawns near me and spray this “mixture” which is touted as organic.

I’ve also noticed another thing:  There are little signs put into the lawn (as shown above) identifying that there has been a pesticide application applied–when it is supposedly organic.  If someone is selling you organic lawn care, they should never, ever do this.  And I smell a strong chemical smell. All red flags to consider when you think you are hiring an organic lawn care guy.

I called another organic lawn care company and this guy came and offered me a service which did it the old-fashioned way.  He wanted me to sign up for a service where he tested and nourished my soil, hand-plucked weeds weekly,  and applied grass seed regularly.  Yeah, that makes sense.

There is no quick-fix organic cure that I’ve found to date.  Buyer beware.

Kari Bales

When I watch Kari Bales speak out, I suspect a lot of people will likely judge her as cold and callous because we see her smile at times we wouldn’t expect it.  Kari’s husband, Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, is accused of murdering 17 Afghan civilians, including children.

Kari says without any negative emotions on her face, ““I just don’t think he was involved.” She shakes her head no and is clearly full of doubt that this could be true.

I believe Kari is in denial, which Matt Lauer talks about at the end of the interview.  Kari can’t accept that the man she loves could be capable of doing what he is accused of.  At times, she almost looks like she could crack up in laughter because its so absurd to her. It’s so over-the-top. She can’t believe it, and doesn’t want to believe it.  Understandably. Who would?

Yet in contrast, about one-third way through the interview, we do see Kari fight back true turmoil when she does tear up for a minute.  She is quick to gain composure, or MSNBC edited it here. I can’t tell.

Kari is feeling a huge array of emotions right now that I suspect even she can’t make sense of.  She is all over the board–overwhelmed emotionally, and when this happens, emotions crop up out of nowhere, as if they short-circuit. She likely will experience a flash of emotions going from sad to happy to angry in a matter of minutes. She likely won’t know which way is up and which was is down.

At this point, I suspect Kari is choosing to repress these emotions as much as she can to cope–to get by or until she can get the facts that give her confidence, and yet the facts may never give her confidence to accept the truth as she so tells us.

I think it is very natural for a wife and a mother to reject the idea her husband could be involved in such a horrible nightmare–even in the face of overwhelming evidence because accepting the truth is beyond devastating to Kari’s life. It is absolutely possible that she may always reject what her husband did (if he is convicted), because to accept her husband is a murderer is a very hard thing for a mother to do when looking at her innocent children.
